The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards, the contest that chooses the funniest photographs in the animal kingdom, announced on Thursday (10) the finalists of its 2020 edition.
Founded by Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam, two photographers passionate about wildlife, the annual contest is in its sixth edition. Among the judges are wildlife photographers, comedians, and wildlife experts.
They will have the difficult task of examining 44 finalist photographs to select a winner, which will be announced on October 22 at a virtual award ceremony.
According to Joynson-Hicks and Sullam, this will be the best edition of the contest. “We have been overwhelmed by the standard of entries this year, and by the number! Never have we had so many entries, and of such high quality, and the judges will now settle down to many hours of sifting, scoring and selecting (with the odd cup of tea, biscuit, and light snooze thrown in no doubt),” they said in a note.
